South West Image Bank BCOP100

The South West Image Bank, based in Plymouth, full of photographs both old and new. The SWiB is a community-based archive, organised by 16 volunteers who help to catalogue all of the images to keep them  safe for the wider public. They hold more than 200 individual archives that date back to the 1870’s which range from glass plates, transparent negatives and lantern slides, all of which are mostly the original format. Within each archive there are thousands of images which all add up to meaning the image bank store millions of images.
